Within my 10 years of coach I aspire to see kids grow & enjoy playing the game. Soccer helps kids become more accountable, responsible and have fun at the same time. I take pleasure in the bonds I have with kids over the years. At Blackhawks we are a family & extend this during daily interaction on and off the field.
I have been coaching for 8 years and obtained my D License in addition to LaLiga Formation Methodology (Level 1-3). I enjoy teaching players “possession soccer” in which players become comfortable & love to have the ball. My zest for the game inspires me to develop young players. One of my proudest accomplishments is my 99 Boys winning the State Cup 2016-2017 season. I chose Blackhawks because our club has the same beliefs in soccer & style of play.
What has inspired me to coach for 5+ years is watching kids grow as not only players but individuals. It’s rewarding to see them improve daily. I believe that soccer teaches kids growth in many areas of their lives. The correlation from the field to daily life experiences is something they can carry forever. I enjoy coaching as I am able to instill in each player the lessons, fundamentals & education that I have learned over the years. I chose Blackhawks as it’s all about the kids & community. We don’t just “walk the walk”, we care about our youth.
Born in Uruguay, South America, Niko has been playing soccer since he started walking. From the start he has always played competitively and shown a fierce passion for the game. In Uruguay, he played youth competitive, high school, and semi pro. He was also National Futsal Champion playing for club Penarol, when he was 14 years old. Once he arrived in the United States, he continued playing at a very high level, representing Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, playing and earning a West Regional Championship for the Semi-Pro Sacramento Gold, and being part of the Professional Indoor Soccer Team Sacramento Surge since their start in 2012.
In 2011 he started training youth players. Ever since, he has trained and coached over 600 players of all levels (Recreational, Select, Competitive, High School, College). He quotes: "having trained all levels of players has helped me understand the needs each player has in order to succeed and get to the next level. What has helped me along the way is the relationships that I create with each player I train. I don't just go and train them; I try to relate to them, to understand where they are coming from, how they feel about the sport, and that helps me at the moment of executing a perfect training plan."
In 2017 received D License.
Biggest achievement to date: *National Futsal Champion in Uruguay (2002) // *West Regional Champion with Sacramento Gold (NPSL 2014)
